What to do when we are closed

The out-of-hours period begins at 18:30 to 08:00 Monday to Friday and after 11:30 Saturday to 08:00am Monday.  There is an out-of-hours service provided at Bassetlaw Hospital next to the A & E Department, which is staffed by a local GP.  If you are housebound you can still have access to a home visit if it is necessary.

You can access urgent assistance by calling 111 on your telephone. A triage nurse will assess your situation and take appropriate action. This could simply be by offering advice or where necessary by making arrangements for you to be seen by a doctor.

Out-of-hours services are generally very busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.

NHS 111

111 online is a fast and convenient alternative to the 111 phone service and provides an option for people who want to access 111 digitally.

Your needs will be assessed and you will be given advice about whether you need:

  • Treat yourself at home
  • Go to a Primary Care Centre

If you need face to face medical attention you may be asked to attend a Primary Care Centre.
