Latest News

https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/self-isolation-advice/

Due to the current coronavirus situation and in line with guidance from PHE and the CCG Newgate medical has made changes to appointment booking. This is to protect our patients and staff from being at risk of unnecessary infection.

Any pre booked face to face appointments will be honoured, however from Wednesday 11th March  any other GP appointments will be for GP call back only. Please do not attend the surgery for these appointments unless you have been contacted by the GP personally and have been asked to do so.

If prior to your appointment you develop

Cough

Runny nose

Sore throat

Body aches

Fever

You should not attend, please telephone the surgery prior to you appointment to seek further advice.

Appointments for any other clinicians e.g nurses, advance practitioners will continued to be booked as face to face but will need to be care navigated by our reception staff. (These appointments will not be available online.)

Our staff will be provided with a series of questions they need to ask to ensure that by booking face to face appointments there is no risk of infection.

Whilst we appreciate that this is a significant change for our patients we hope that you will support us in our efforts to maintain the smooth running of the practice whilst attempting to reduce the risk to both patients and staff.

Newgate Medical Group will be reviewing ALL repeat medications when they are ordered.  In Line with National guidance ALL routine items are required to be issued as a 28 day supply only. (There may be a few exceptions to this rule.)

This will mean that if you have received more than 28 days supply in the past, it will be changed to a 28 days supply from your next prescription review.

Alongside this Bassetlaw CCG has informed the Practice that in the next few months 3rd Party (pharmacy) ordering prescriptions will no longer be permitted. (There may again be some exceptions to this rule.)  We are awaiting further information on this and will update you when possible.

In preparation for this, we are asking patients to register for our online service to order their repeat prescription.  We have also put in place a post box service to enable patients to order their repeat prescription in writing.  The post box is situated inside the Practice foyer.

For any patients that are unable to use either of these options, we have also added a 5th option on our telephone system where you can leave your request on a voice mail.  This is only for items that are on your repeat medications list.
